Pleasanton, CA – The ValleyCare Auxiliary recently presented ValleyCare CEO Marcy Feit with a check in the amount of $100,000 for surgical equipment upgrades, a laboratory analyzer for colorectal cancer screening and a new oven for the kitchen at ValleyCare Medical Center.

Earlier this year, the Auxiliary gave $275,000 gift for patient equipment upgrades throughout the health system. The Auxiliary raises funds from sales in the hospital Gift Shop and the Thrift Shop, located in downtown Livermore, and from the Auxiliary’s special event sales throughout the year. By supporting their efforts, you enable ValleyCare Health System to continue providing high quality and compassionate care.

Consisting of approximately 350 members, the ValleyCare Auxiliary is committed to providing comfort and assistance to the patients, visitors and staff. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways including: greeting visitors and patients at the information desks; working the Gift Shop and Thrift Shop; assisting at the ValleyCare Health Library; transporting patients; delivering flowers, comforting patients and acting as a vital communications link between patient families and hospital personnel.

"These volunteers have come to symbolize the dedication and compassion of our community," says Feit. "I believe we could not provide the high level of service we do without the commitment of our Auxiliary."
