PLEASANTON, CALIF.—Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare today announced that several Stanford Medicine physicians will now provide care locally. This will expand access to specialized medical care, clinical innovations and research opportunities for patients in the Tri-Valley area.

“Extending our breadth of care to the Tri-Valley enables us to better understand the needs of our neighboring communities and deliver life-changing discoveries,” said Lloyd B. Minor, MD, dean of the Stanford University School of Medicine. "We look forward to working with community doctors to offer accessible, personal care that not only treats people when they’re sick but also empowers them to be well.”

Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare already provides the Tri-Valley with exceptional, patient-centered community medicine. Now, with specialized Stanford Medicine programs in areas such as adult and pediatric hospitalist medicine, vascular surgery and subspecialty cancer care, ValleyCare will deliver a continuum of leading-edge care to the community.

“The addition of Stanford Medicine physicians further strengthens our ability to treat complex cases and helps ensure that patients have seamless access to the latest clinical innovations, right here in the Tri-Valley,” said Scott Gregerson, president, Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare.

Specialists from Stanford University School of Medicine will provide outpatient clinical care, and in some cases, inpatient care for services at ValleyCare. For example, Stanford hospitalists and vascular surgeons will provide 24/7 care for inpatients and emergency cases. Specialists in dermatology, gastroenterology, gynecologic and radiation oncology, hepatology, infectious disease, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, and vascular surgery will see patients at clinic locations in Pleasanton and Livermore.
