Junior volunteers

Studies show that those who volunteer are frequently happier and more content, and they often find new friendships and expand their horizons in ways they never expected.

Caring and Compassion

Just ask any of the more than 250 ValleyCare volunteers if they enjoy their work. For more than 60 years, these caring men and women have unselfishly given their time and talent to help patients and visitors at ValleyCare's medical facilities.

Being a volunteer requires a commitment, but ValleyCare offers a variety of positions that are sure to fit your schedule. ValleyCare volunteers are:

  • Compassionate
  • Communicative
  • Committed
    • Minimum 6-month commitment and 100 hours of service.
  • At least 16 years of age

The ValleyCare volunteers are involved in a variety of activities throughout the health system including: visiting patients through the Ambassador program, escorting wheelchair patients, delivering flowers, staffing the Gift Shop, directing visitors at our information desks, working in our outpatient surgery center and emergency services, and helping staff members in different departments throughout the hospital. You will also find them assisting patrons at the ValleyCare Resource Center, or visiting with patients in our Cancer Center.

We make every attempt to match a volunteer's interest and skills to specific assignments keeping in mind the greatest needs of the organization and how we can best support the patient experience. Volunteers do not shadow, observe or provide clinical services (intern/externship), or participate in research positions.
