Ways to Give
ValleyCare Charitable Foundation provides a free service to help you prepare to talk with your tax and financial advisors about making a gift that will benefit you or your business, as well as ValleyCare.
Tax-deductible cash donations can be a one-time event or paid over a number of years.
Named Gift Opportunities
Businesses, organizations, families and individuals may designate specific items or areas of permanent recognition at ValleyCare sites in Pleasanton or Livermore. Gifts/pledges may be used to dedicate a building, department or room in honor of a family member or loved one or to stand in the name of the donor.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities
These donations are made at present cash value but may have cost you far less. Such a gift will allow you to save capital gains tax that you would have had to pay if you sold the securities.
Gifts of Real Estate
Real estate may be split into partial interest with you receiving part of the proceeds and ValleyCare receiving the other part. This can be structured to offset capital gains due on the cash you receive with a tax deduction for the portion you contribute—a zero-tax option. You can also make a gift of your home but stay in it and get a tax deduction now for a portion of its fair market value.
Gifts of Tangible Personal Property
Gifts of items such as art and coin collections are appreciated, but generally the tax benefits are not as great unless ValleyCare can use the property itself.
In addition to fundraising, recruiting and retaining quality volunteers is essential to the success of ValleyCare Charitable Foundation. Please contact us if you would like to donate your time by volunteering to help with any of our events or serving on our Board of Trustees.
ValleyCare Charitable Foundation is separately incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our Internal Revenue Service tax identification number is 94-2941652.
